What is IML (In Mold Labeling)?Injection molding method consists of high-pressure injection where granular polypropylene (PP) raw material polymer is melted and shaped by a mold. During these processes, IML (In Mold Labeling) integrates with the product in the mold and takes its final form. | ![]() |
Why IML?

Which printing techniques do we use in IML (In Mold Labeling)? In offset printing technique, Conventional and Led UV printing methods are the most common printing types for IML products. In Ömür Production Facilities we use both types of Heidelberg (who is considered as a pioneer of international quality standards) conventional and Led UV printing machines that have advanced technology with 6 and 8 color options. | ![]() |
Offset Conventional Printing TechniqueIt is a printing technique in which the ink transferred to the mold is firstly transferred to the rubber and then to PP, on the basis that water and oil-based ink don’t mix with each other. It has the feature of drying with the help of air. | Offset Led UV Printing TechniqueAlthough it is systematically similar to the conventional printing technique, it differs as a printing type that dries faster with the help of ultraviolet lamps and suitable inks. This is significant due to the fact that it creates a fast drying advantage in transparent and metallized labels. When compared to the traditional UV, the Led UV printing technology used in Ömür Printing facilities, provides food safe, bright and vivid printing results by eliminating gas emission and odour problems. |
Types of IMLMatt | ![]() |
Matt IMLDepending on the lacquer options applied on the ink, it is possible to achieve a natural matt appearance suitable for the content of your package. | Ultra Clear IMLDepending on the lacquer options applied on the ink, a bright and lively appearance can be achieved in the packaging colors. |
Metallized IMLIt is the metallized appearance that affects the purchasing decisions positively and makes the product stand out when compared to other products. This effect can be achieved with foil or ink. | Barrier IMLOxygen barrier IML provides a shelf life extension by significantly reducing the oxygen permeability of products that need to be airtight. It helps reduce food waste while saving energy needed by refrigeration equipment. |
Super Clear IMLSuper Clear IML can be used for situations where it is desired to display the product in the container by providing transparency in certain parts of the image. | Reverse Print IMLIf you want to prevent your product from being discolored during pasteurization and pressurization after printing, and to be suitable for use in microwaves and dishwashers, this method can be preferred where the printing is between PP film and IML packaging. |
BMLInner blown moulding labelling can be classified under three main types. These are extrusion blown moulding, injection blown moulding and stretch blown moulding. The integration of the label happens during these processes. | ![]() |
